  It is a walk! But one definitely worth it when up the top. The place is very run down but the scenes are beautiful. It's child friendly and some parts are under renovation but all in all a well worth visit.

  Easy to find. Fairly easy walk to the top. Amazing to stand on a piece of ancient history and see what invaders must have anticipated! EU health and safety does not seem to apply so beware of edges and big vertical drops. Well worth the walk and an enjoyable beer on the way down.

  Mostly unspoilt, this broken castle feels very old, as it is. Here the second Punic war began around 220bc when Hannibal sieged the stronghold, finally breaking in, to then go onto the gates of Rome across the Alps with his elephants!!

  Free admission! Worth to visit in early morning hours to avoid heat. A lot to explore if you are passionate about ancient history and can handle it on your own without a tour guide. Free tours available on certain days. There very nice walking track which starts at the bottom of the castle hill and leads to down town Sagunto along Arabic era historical places.

  Huge castle and ramparts overlooking the city of Sagunto. Roman amphitheatre, medieval streetscape and meandering walks down below. Restoration work ongoing to several towers in late 2017. Free entry.
